Green Day's Awards Over the past decade, Green Day has won a ton of awards in many countries. We will try to provide each and every award that they have won on this page, however, sometimes we tend to miss one. Please feel free to e-mail me and let me know what I have missed. August 2001: Green Day won Kerrang's Award for Classic Songwriter. All together, they were nominated for 3 awards; Classic Songwriter which they won, Best International Live Act (lost to Papa Roach), & Best Band in the World (lost to Slipknot). 2002: Green Day won Outstanding Group at the California Music Awards. May 2003: Green Day won 4 California Music Awards. They are Outstanding Group, Artist of the Year, Best Guitarist (Billie Joe), and the "Spirit of Rock" award.
