FOXBORO HOT TUBS: Stop Drop & Roll

Release Date: May 20th 2008

Details

Green Day has recorded a spontaneous album named Stop Drop & Roll under the band name Foxboro Hot Tubs. The side-band first appeared mysteriously in a Idiot Club forum message, the resemblances had everyone guessing who was behind the Hot Tubs until Green Day released a statement to MTV:
"We think that the only similarity [between the Hot Tubs and Green Day] is that we are the same band. That is basically the only similarity," the Hot Tubs, er, Green Day, wrote in the e-mail. "We are Jason White, Jason Freese, Michael Pritchard, Frank Edwin Wright the Third and the Reverend Strychnine Twitch. ... We are four guys who love to play music and be spontaneous, [and] after a few late night jams and a few too many bottles of wine, we were inspired to record some rockin' eight-track recordings.

We have setup a dedicated page with all the details about the Foxboro Hot Tubs, which you can read here.

GREEN DAY + NRDC

Details

Green Day teamed up with the National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) to create the website GreenDayNRDC.com. The site is being used as a tool to spread word among Green Day fans about protecting the environment. The site has petitions to the government that users can sign, and videos from the band letting their fans know why they support the cause, and what individuals can do to help.

The group has been a little inactive while Green Day headed back to the studio to work on their 8th album. We'll see if the group gets active following the release of the new album.
